A college art contest celebrating 50 years of the Waco Symphony Orchestra

The Waco Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 50th Anniversary during the 2011-12 school year. Part of this celebration includes a Painted Strings Fundraiser sponsored by the Waco Symphony Council. This event will feature prominent artists in the community painting actual stringed instruments to be auctions off at a Live Auction in Nov. of 2011. All College students are encouraged to participate. The winning College artists will get the honor of painting a real violin, as well as win a $500 prize. Additional prizes will be awarded to Second and Third Place Winners.
