ARTIST STATEMENT
My goal is to bring stone to life. The artist’s duty is to take a block of stone, study it, study the veins to see how they flow, then look inwardly for the inspiration that will breath life into the sculpture. There are thousands of ideas and images trapped in stone, and they have waited for a very long time to be revealed. The artist should approach a piece of stone as a gift, search his soul and allow the right inspiration to take over his mind and heart. Only then can be bring out the one idea and image that is right for the stone in his hands.
