The prints of Johanna Mueller are imbued with personal mythology as she draws from her own narrative, cultural and historical references, pattern and design, and ancient myth and legend. The animals in her work are elevated from beast to mythic status as they take on human emotions and become metaphoric portraits of the artist and others.

Engraving Workshop at The Croft Art Gallery
Learn the art of wood engraving! We will use High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) to carve small-scale compositions we will print by hand. Learn how to use a traditional engraving burin as well as how to lay out a black and white composition, and carve intricate line work into the material. August 21st 1-6pm. $55.00 per student.
